Spyker Follows Up with Stunning Coupe! by Alex Michalas Have you read our 2000 British Motorshow Full Coverage?
Then you should remember a small company from Holland named Spyker unveiling the C8 Spyder, a very interesting 400 hp convertible with supercar performance.
As we are always keen on covering news on small and upcoming manufacturers we couldn't help but noticing that the 2001 Amsterdam Motorshow is
currently taking place and Spyker have chosen their home ground to unveil the stunning follow up to the C8 Spyder, the C8 Laviolette which is practically a Coupe version of the Spyder. As it was noted by
Spyker, "The name 'Laviolette' pays tribute to the Belgian engineer Joseph Valentin Laviolette, who was responsible for the development of the first Spyker models in the early 1900s, including the Spyker
60 HP racing car dating from 1903, the world's first four-wheel drive six-cylinder motor car." Taking a look at the car itself, it incorporates all the sophisticated features of the Spyder including a fully adjustable suspension. The same Audi 4.2 lt. V8 is
used but, this time, it is producing 450 hp. Perfomance figures are quoted at 4.5 seconds for the accelartion to 100km/h (62mph) and a top speed of 300 km/h (186 mph)Way to go for Spyker then - we hope to
see the C8 on the road soon. In the meantime write your ideas about it by clicking here and going to the
